Can someone help me understanding the meaning of this sentence?
"You can't go walking about with Epping Forest on your shoulder"
Is this a posh or outdated version of saying: "You can't carry the weight of the world on your shoulders", or is something else? I can´t find any references online.

I've never heard the expression. It must be British English, since Epping Forest is a real former Royal Forest near London. My guess would be the same as yours.

A 'chip' is, literally, a small piece of wood. Epping Forest is an enormous amount of wood..
