“Epitomize” : will it be somewhat presumptuous when it is used to highlight my own work?

The most important point that I would want to address is that my current work is awesome and that it has facilitated many research works.

Given what I am trying to express, can I say

My current work epitomizes the great impact of "X " in the research field.

or

can it be :

My current work is an exemplar of the great impact of "X " in the research field.
