[TOPIC] Some industrialized countries have serious environmental problems. The damage to the environment is inevitable result when a country tends to improve the standard of living. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
[ESSAY] Plastic bags are flying, huge clouds of dust are covering the sky. Somewhere, a man has just died for lung cancer, a school has been closed temporarily for the air quality index at an extremely dangerous rate. Some people hold the belief that they are the unavoidable consequences to boost economic development. Nevertheless, I strongly disagree with this point of view.
In many regions, in order to increase economic growth coupled with protecting their environment, the enterprises establish factories in other countries. If investment recipient nations do not assess these projects meticulously, there may be negative impacts on the local ecosystem. Therefore, it is highly necessary to select eco-friendly projects or which have the least devastating effects on nature and habitants. In addition, there should be regulations to companies regarding processing waste disposal to secure the safety of people living around those territories. By doing so, we can both raise people’s living standard and attain a sustainable prosperity.
One of the primary polluted sources that is undermining our atmosphere day by day is emissions from the burning of fossil fuels, a form of energy that we are overly relying on. For that reason, the government should encourage companies to reduce their dependence on oil and coal and gradually switch to alternative energy such as solar and wind power. Besides, we should also promote non-smoking industries like tourism and technology. These areas will make a great contribution to national budget if we harness them efficiently.
To summarize, the essay has provided convincing arguments that we do not need to exchange our environment to economic advancement. What every country should do are to give top priority to environmental-friendly fields and implement campaigns to raise public’s awareness on environmental protection. Our natural world is priceless, only when we lost it can we realize how valuable it is.
