enunciation :I wish he / she was

Hi teachers,

I have trouble listening to the wordings:

It was 'I wish he was dead' and I hear 'I wish she was dead'

How do you enunciate both 'I wish he / she'?

Thanks

In conversation, they can sound quite alike, with 'she' producing only a slight additional [ ? ]. Native speakers rely more on context and common sense than actual pronunciation in such subtle cases.
