Enumeration with "and" and "or"

hi there.
have to correct some pupil's work and the following phrase appears to me to be wrong somehow :

> The best team is Bayern München because they have very good players for example Robben or Neuer. <

first, i think there should be a comma after "players",
and then one more after "robben" because the english put commas before "or" and "and" when enumerating other than it's done in germany.
correct?

but still the enumeration seems flawed. shouldn't it be "robben, and neuer"?
do the english say anything like "x, or y" when enumerating, just like the germans do? it just sounds wrong to me.

any suggestions?
thanks!

best,
ben
