entrust

I have looked up "entrust" in a dictionary. It seems to me that we can't entrust people to other people. We can say "entrust something to people". Is it correct?

entrust the secret to a messenger, The messenger was entrusted with the general's secret. The examples are found on the Intermet.

I'd like to have your opinion. Can you give examples of "entrusting people to other people"? Thanks.
