Entreat sb to do sth

- Has Peter and his wife ever argued fiercely and then she packed up her things going back to her mother's house to live and Peter had to go there to entreat her to go back home?

- Is this sentence natural?

Steven: There are so many tenses mixed together and the sentence is so long, that it does not sound natural. "going" is not correct. It should be "packed up....

"going" is not correct. It should be "packed up.... and went"
