Grammar

Enterprise

Hi,

"...And enterprise of great pitch and moment

With this regard THEIR currents turn awry

And lose the name of action"

I have problems undestanding the grammar in the above:

"enterprise" works as a plural there? Thus "their" and "lose", not "loses"?

or maybe I have misunderstood the very idea ( just my misinterpretation)?

thank you

I wouldn't tie myself up in knots trying to interpret 400 year old poetry in terms of modern usage and grammar. Still, if you must, here's a site that attempts to translate Shakespeare (Hamlet in this case) into modern English. com/hamlet / And the site's home page (for other Shakespeare plays).
