Is this the correct way of saying it? Im just using an example as I have some problems telling the difference between Simple Past and Present Perfect, especially when it comes to not including the specific time in which a situation took place. Here it is:

"I have been riding on this bus for the last 3 days since the road closure and each time i WAS on it, it DIDN'T just stop here without going any further but it WENT straight to the station dodging the roadworks by going around them."

The words in capitals are the ones that I am not entirely sure they are correct. Is it correct to use Simple Past since the exact time is not mentioned? The whole problem lies in the fact that the example begins with a Present Perfect sentence. Please, clear that up, thank you!

Simple past can be used both with and without a specific past time reference:

I lived in Tokyo.
