What is the meaning of "enough is at stake" in the following paragraph:
When we bestow patronage (give food, clothes, shelter, money, etc. to those in need), we mush find ways to do it that do not bring shame. Instead we need do it in ways that restore and bestow honor. It can be harder, but enough is at stake that the effort is truly worthwhile.
