Enjoy the swings / enjoy playing (on) the swings

Can I say,

(a) The children enjoy the swings at the playground.

(b) They enjoy playing the swings / playing on the swings in the playground.

Hello Vince, The first sentence is possible, but sounds a little odd, to my ears: the children enjoy not the swings themselves, but playing on the swings, as in the second part of your second example. All the best, MrP

The first sentence is possible, but sounds a little odd, to my ears: the children enjoy not the swings themselves, but playing on the swings, as in the second part of your second example.
