Engraved, etched

Hi,

"You have to read over the vocabulary at least ten times before it becomes etched in your mind/before it becomes engraved on your mind."

I know that I can say 'before you remember it'. I'm just curious about the use of 'etched' and 'engraved' in this case. Perhaps there's another option I don't know about.

Thank you.

'engraved' seems better than 'etched', but neither is wrong. You also have 'fixed in your mind'. CJ
