[engonow] the use of video cameras in public places is being increased in order to reduce crime

Dear teachers, please help me with this essay.

In many cities the use of video cameras in public places is being increased in order to reduce crime, but some people believe that these measures restrict our individual freedom
Do the benefits of increased security overweigh the drawbacks?

Nowadays, to protect ourselves from the criminal, many cities use video cameras in some places. Unfortunately, some people feel uncomfortable that there is someone watching them all day. I do believe that the benefits overweigh the problems.

Actually there are two reasons explaining why some people hate the use of video cameras. First of all, cameras will record all their private things they do in the street. Maybe it is not really matter the matter is that is impolite when somebody watching your every movements. Have you ever been followed by the stranger? How do you feel about that? That is the feeling some people feel if there is too much CAM. The more CCTV is installed, the less police officers is dropped. Because the government sees police officers aren’t necessary if there are CCTv everywhere. Cameras do the job instead of police but for people they don’t like this. They feel more dangerous without police. As I know in the USA policemen always walk in the street which make people feel safely. CCTV can record everything but what will they do if a thief kill people before the recognize. The result is people die, everything is done. The thing that will not happen if there is much more police than CCTV.

Although there are still some drawbacks above I believe that CCTV can be a positive measure. The record of CCTV is the perfect evidence for police to catch a thief or pickpocket when they don’t commit. Thanks to CCTV criminals in many cities will be less than it used to be. Therefore, in my view CCTV is just a tool support police to make many cities safe and people live there feel better. CCTV can not replace police officers. They need to be existed the same time.

In conclusion, by this way we gain more than we lose. CCTV do its job well, it will bring us absolutely safe.
