English translation for the Spanish "No".

Please, could you help me on this? I want to (and I did, I do not know if in a right way) translate the following Spanish sentence to Direct English Speech and to Indirect English Speech.

La muchacha preguntó: “¿Tienes algunos sellos que puedas darme?”, pero el hermano contestó: “No”.
Direct Speech. Which one of these two is a better translation?:

DS1.- The girl asked: “Do you have some stamps you can give me?”, but her brother answered: “No, I haven’t”.

DS2.- The girl asked: “Do you have some stamps you can give me?”, but her brother answered: “No”.

Indirect Speech. Which one of these two is a better translation?:

IS1.- The girl asked her brother if he had some stamps he could give her, but he answered that he didn’t.

IS2.- The girl asked if her brother had some stamps he could give her, but he answered that he hadn’t.

And thank you in advance,

Eladio

”, pero el hermano contestó: “No”. Direct Speech. ”, but her brother answered: “No, I haven’t”.

  • ”, pero el hermano contestó: “No”.
  • Direct Speech.
  • ”, but her brother answered: “No, I haven’t”.
  • ”, but her brother answered: “No”.
  • This seems closer to the original.

The girl asked, "Do you have any stamps you can give me?" but her brother answered/said, "No".
The girl asked her brother if he had any stamps he could give her, but he answered/said that he didn't*.

*that he hadn't would be more typical of British English.

Br: Have you a pen? No, I haven't. I have a pen, and so has he. Had she any stamps? No, she h
