English standards/English level???

What are the difference between English standards and English level? Can they be used interchangeably?
Are the following sentences correct?
Your English level will be tested
Your English standards will be tested
Our country's English level is falling
Our country's English standard is falling
How about 'level of English' and 'standards of English'?
Are they just another way of saying 'English level' and English standard'? Are there any differences between them?
Thanks a lot!

In the US (British academic usage is very different from US usage) the term "English standard(s)" is not used in academic settings. This is an obsolete term that implied the singling out - from remedial placement - of students with substandard ability in English. The term "English level" would only be used today in the US in reference to students who are not native English speakers, and who may have ability in English that is not entirely proficient.
