English Songs, German Songs...

Here where I'm living (Europa) a lot of people are of the opinion that english songs are quiete a lot better than german ones. Especially movies or soundtracks are often bought and watched in english. This is because everyone is used to german because you hear it all the day, so I wanted to know, if it's true that there are played english songs in english radio programms, or if there are also italian, spanish or even german ones?

For an example I've choosen an famous song of an disney movie. Nearly everyone of an certain age (who is old enought to understand the words) is thinking that the english version is better. I wonder if english speaking people have also gotten used to their language or if it's just normal for you to her everything in your mother tongue?
