English Research paper Thesis question

Hello, my name is brittany and i am not sure how i should write this thesis. My topic is comparing critical analysis' with my own opinion. I am writing about a few of Gwendolyn Brooks' poems. My thesis is "Though many people have different interpretations of what specific words or phrases mean within Gwendolyn Brooks’ poems; looking at her background and beliefs it is clearer what the main objective or meaning of her poems are." But originally i had all the same until the end and it had said "...meaning of the poem is." Because it is on multiple poems but the meanings are different so which should i use?!
