English Prepositions "To" vs "For"

Hi,

Recently, I heard someone says the below sentence.

"No Problem, If it wasn't a big thing to you"

But, all the time I used to say this as:

"No Problem, If it wasn't a big thing for you"

Is there any mistake in saying "for" instead of to? Why do they use "to"?
