English novels for senior students

I am a teacher of English in a secondary school in Melbourne, Australia, and we are currently determining set novels for our students for next year. We are having particular problems deciding on novels for Year 11. We are trying to decide between 'Saving Francesca' by Melina Marchetta (a good, straightforward, non-controversial book) and 'Killing Aurora' by Helen Barnes (a contorversial, confronting novel about teenage anorexia).

Does anyone else teach either of these?

What other novels do people teach at Year 11 level?

Cheers,

Paul
