Dear Mister J. Clerk,

I am Taco Perquin, I have read about your advertise in a Dutch newspaper and I am very interested in your job opening. I study at a Dutch college and am a bachelor degree student. If you would information about me from other people the following person knows me very well and will be able to give you good information, here e-mail is Email Removed. I am interested in your job opening because it will give me the possibility to stay in England for 3 months and make enough money to support myself.
I have worked at a French clothing company for 4 months last year and for 1 month at a Belgium shop. I would like to know the number of the contact department of Selfridges to get more information about the job opening. I was also wondering if it was possible I could stay with other Selfridges employees. I have also heard from several sources that London is a very expensive city.
I would also like to know if the salary I will be getting paid would be sufficient enough to support myself in England and if the store I will be working in would be the one in Oxford Street. I also need a short description about the job opening such as what kind of job it is and what it involves.
Further I would like to point out that although my native language isn’t English I can speak it very good and if the people would know how well most Dutch people can speak English they would must certainly hire on.
The telephone number that is attached is mine and will always be answered by me. If that number does not response you should try the alternative number that is also attached. If there is anything else of information you would like to have please contact me.

I am looking forward to hearing from you as soon as possible.

Yours faithfully,

Taco Perquin

Feel free to comment the whole letter, i am sure there's alot of grammar errors in there Emotion: stick out tongue

Hey,

Thanks for the pointers and directions. I know the part about the staying with another employee and the salary is normally not something you would ask in your first letter, but it was in the assignment created by my teacher and it HAD to be in the content, so I'm just following that.

So again, Thanks for your time and help.

Hi,

Maybe your teacher was testing you to see if you would actually include it. In all honesty, asking questions such as those in a letter might actually cause you to lose your opportunity, especially when the global economies remain weak.

Anyway, glad I could help.
