I'm a born and raised American citizen. In my youth, 7 years at University and two degrees later, I excelled in Eng/Comp classes and always enjoyed writing and poetry (some times even when it was required!) I believe this was a trait acquired from my father who majored in public relations, broadcast and journalism.
To get to the point, I did notice (I know already your group isintelligent, educated and unoffensive....props on that. However, I did notice that it seems you strongly discourage the use of what I call the updated and advanced version of old-school-short-hand, NKA (now known as) text jargon/use of acronyms/ slang, etc. So in my daily hustle and bustle of life, I do utilize the "wanna, getta, lemme, dunno, doncha" and so on and forth and I use a fair amount of widely known acronyms. Examples: WYD? WYDN? R U THERE? Idk. Lol. Lmao.BBIAB. BAK. TTFN. TTYS. TTYL. and even more. However if I write a business letter or a card to an elderly grandparent, I absolutely use proper vocabulary, punctuation, capitalization, and appropriate content. So I do recognize the difference. I assure you, it's a quicker means of saying something, that's all. My kids speak correct and proper English with emphasis on etiquette and manners, we use "yes mam, no mam, yes and no sir" I am very staunch on the "Please" and "Thank You's" and i push VOCABULARY on them. I've even made a quite effective game based on new words, the likely definition and proper spelling and part of speech! We have a ball! My oldest is at the top of her class and honors student and cheerleader, my youngest is also a girl and just started her 1st grade term! God have mercy on my soul. Respectfully. Long-story-long... Am I wrong to use the quicker SMS AND MMS short-jargon, even though I also know and will teach proper English, as much as I know, at least. I'm no expert, not an English major just a simple person who values proper speech at the same time, if I am in a pickle and need to SMS quickly , I won't hesitate to use my own coined jargon, "D! No tt." And all who know me understand the meaning, as follows: I am Driving! No Texting, no Talking. TA-TA!"
Is all this acceptable or not! Please keep in mind I am aware and knowledgeable of the PROPER elements of speech and writing.
Although I am inclined to think you can probably point out 50-75 errors in this single post... At best.

I hope not. Plz lemme know wyt
