English Idiom

Which one is correct?

"Curiosity Killed the cat" or "Curiosity kills the cat"?

Do I need to use capital for Curiosity even if the quote comes after a comma?

Thanks

Can I say like this,

"Curiosity killed the cat", a lesson well learnt by me.

Is there any grammatical error?

Thanks.

No, but the passive voice is a very weak expression here.
