If it were not for you, I would have gone with Rover. Still, I am inclined to do so. I have learnt that 'Earth' is a proper noun(name of a planet). Only when it refers to 'dirt/soil', it is 'earth'. I see it as a rule. May be you have a quite dif

I frequently see Earth used with no "the". I think "the Earth" is becoming deprecated. I also was taught to always use Earth when referring to the planet, and earth when referring to soil.
