English grammar: Once, twice, and N times a day

Here are two sentences:

1. Take this medicine once a day.
2. I drink coffee twice a day.

Are "once" and "twice" adverbs? or are they adverbial phrases with "a day" together?

Here are two more sentences:

3. You should brush your teeth three times a day.
4. The bus departs six times a day.

Three times and six times aren't adverbs, right? What are they more exactly?

Ok, but if they are adverbs of frequency they should follow the verb be, or come before a verb.
twice a day. <- this comes before an article and noun. It doesn't make sense.

Aren't they adverbial phrases?
