I would really appreciate if a teacher recommended me a grammar book that's both, complete and thorough.

For most students: Practical English Usage , by Michael Swan, Oxford University Press (latest edition). For advanced students: A Communicative Grammar of English , by Leech & Svartvik, Longman Group. A Student's Introduction to English Grammar , Huddleston & Pullum, Cambridge University Press.
