english grammar and counfusing meaning of the sentence

I am very confused with meaning of this sentence...

- John did not meet with all of the delegates.

-> I though that this sentence has two meanings.
1. John did not meet with any delegates.
2. John met with some delegates.
Is it correct interpretation?
And, we can negate the sentence, John did meet with all of the delegates, and then the negated sentence may have two meanings.
1. John met with all of the delegates.
2. John didn't met with some delegates, is it right?

and finally, Does the sentence, John didn't met with some delegates, mean either John didn't meet any delegates or John met with all of the delegates?

I really really want to know those 3 questions. Please:-(

The negation of for all X is there exists a not X. So if John did not meet with all the delegates, then there is at least one delegate he did not meet with. It's true that if John met with no delegates, then he certainly did not meet with all of them, but if John met with no delegates, that would be notable enough to be the declaration.

  • The negation of for all X is there exists a not X.
  • So if John did not meet with all the delegates, then there is at least one delegate he did not meet with.
  • It's true that if John met with no delegates, then he certainly did not meet with all of them, but if John met with no delegates, that would be notable enough to be the declaration.
  • The negation of there exists an X is there is a not X.
  • So if John didn't meet with some delegates, there must be at least one delegate he didn't met with.

A- John did not meet with all of the delegates.
"A" highlights the fact that John may have met with most of the delegates but failed to meet with a few.

B- John met with some of the delegates.
C- John didn't meet with some delegates.
B and C have the same meaning. The difference is that C is more concerned
