Can someone clarify this logic for me please?

I saw you close/closing the door“ I saw the action as I was walking past at that moment

I saw that, you closed the door this morning” Now is afternoon or night

"I saw you close the door." (= at some time in the past I saw you close the door - I saw you in the act of closing the door, and I saw the end result, the closed door)


"I saw you closing the door." (= at some time in the past I saw you in the act of closing the door - but I didn't actually see the end result, the closed door)
