English Grammar

I am doing a project for my English Grammar class over this sentence: James has a pretty good reason for asking.

I am suppose to write about why this sentence is grammatically incorrect and focus on the term pretty. I am having trouble finding out why this is wrong. Is it because pretty is acting as an adverb but it is modifying good instead of the verb has? Also what kind of verbs are has and asking.

pen panda I am suppose d to write about why this sentence is grammatically incorrect That's going to be difficult because there's nothing wrong with the grammar. Maybe the real discussion is supposed to be about usage. If the sentence is supposed to be more formal, then 'pretty' shouldn't be used because it's an informal word.
