Which one is the correct one?

1) I am Christian.

2) I am a Christian.

We normally use the article, but it isn't absolutely necessary. Keep in mind that without it, a person could simply be giving you his first/given name.

For one thing, one is an adjective and the other is a noun. "I am Christian" is more forceful in stating your faith.

I would agree. The adjective use (no article) is describing that person himself; who they are at the core. The noun use (with article) is stating that the person is one who professes or ascribes to Christian teachings or beliefs. So

Here is my two cents. I am a Christian - is a declaration if your faith. If you are introdcing yourself in a casual environment, it is common to hear: " Hi I am Christian ". To me it simply says " Hi my name is Christian ". I don't feel it is forceful, as Anon described. For casual accquaintance, introduction based on first name is good enough.
