English Grammar?

Which one is the correct one?

1) It is turning red.

2) It is turning into red.

Thanks! ^-^

Top answer

"turning red" simply means that its color is changing to red. "turning into red" sounds odd, as if 'it' were actually becoming a color. Maybe that concept could work in certain situations, but for most practical purposes, 1 is the one you want.
