what is the difference between although and even though?

Top answer

Very often there is no actual difference in meaning even though / although / though "even though" may seem a little more emphatic. However only even though or even if is possible if would is used in the main clause: I wouldn't reply even though / even if he ask ed me. But: I didn't reply though / although / even though he asked me.
