so i'm not American, in fact i'm from Bahrain. see i had an argument with my english teacher the other day, and given that she is EGYPTIAN , i don't realy trust her judgement and ive given up for it's known where i live that egyptians just...stink.. when it comes to english. i do not ask her questions as far as english grammar because of that. She doesn't even know the meaning of the word "Mortgage"! i know because i asked her for the spelling and she answered that she didn't know what it meant. should she even be teaching english...?
Anyhow, my question is: is it correct to say:
"The teacher ordered that i stand up"
or
"The teacher ordered that i stood up"
or are they both correct?!?
Teacher says they are both WRONG... are they?
...
...
i hate it because i luv english and there is no one to help me improve.
Thanks.
Danette
