English accent

Beside American and British accent how many kind of English accent are there? I cant understand a single word of the Caribbean English when I listen to that. Is Caribbean English a dialect?

There are many, different American and British accents. Not just one of each of them.

It may also be worth pointing out that there are greater differences among the accents within Britain than exist between standard American English and standard British (or English) English. Although I am from England, I find some British accents actually harder to understand than standard American English.

I didn't mean to imply by this that a standard American English accent is at all difficult for English people to understand. Normally it is no problem at all.

I've heard this comment before from others, and it always amazes me a little to hear it.

It's only when we get into the "owts" and "nowts" and "an' alls" that I start getting confused.
