what is different between Past Continous and Past Simple ? . i usually make mistake when i do homework about it . In sentence " Tom was looking out of the window when the accident happend . i think simple " Past continous to describe in the middle of an action so is " Tom looked out of the window when the accident was happend" why it is incorrect ? Futhermore " Richard had a book in his hand but he " wasn't reading it. He was watching TV " why don't use past simple . Please help me:((((((((((((((
