Natural wording is
eg Mary was a successful artist. Before she died, she drew many pictures.
eg Mary was a successful artist. She drew many pictures.

A is an error.
The Present Perfect refers to the past up until the present, but she died prior to the present.
If you want to use a Perfect tense, use Past Perfect. But Simple Past is more commonly used in such a case.
