Please rewrite the short passage below so that it looks more attractive for children to read. Thanks in advance.

Suddenly, a boy came out of his home. He was wearing neat and tidy clothes. His face was clean and shoes polished. His hair was also well-polished. He always liked to be neat and clean. He would play cricket and other games which did not make his hands and clothes dirty.

Please comment is it better than the first?

Suddenly a well-combed boy came out of his home. He was wearing neat and tidy clothes, his facing gleaming and shoes polished up. This boy always looked clean and tidy. He liked to play cricket and other games which do not make his hands and clothes dirty. He never played marbles.

Change 'do' to 'did' in the penultimate sentence; otherwise, it is fine, too.
