When do you use the word less and when would you use least?

Less means a smaller quantity of something. Least means less than any other. A has $20, B has $10, and C has $5 so:- C has less money than either A or B.

Less means a smaller quantity of something.
Least means less than any other.

less is used as a comparison whereas least is used to distinguish something from all others
ex: $5 is less than $6
