I know, but it's a question in "easy basic english" forum, so I thought the person might be asking for the basic use of "had to" - and doesn't know how to ask for past tense of "have to". It definitely doesn't mean i'm right. I wanted to add this sort of answer, just in case, so he/she can choose.
