A: The police says,'by engaging us, you could get a charge for that.'(context: some guy was talking with the police even the police doesnt want to; the police were doing some job) What does engage mean here? Does it mean to attract or take attention and not letting work?

B: She has the ability to engage with young minds. What does engage mean here?
