enemy activity

Hello,
Would it be acceptable to say "The enemy activity in sector A has declined/decreased since last week."? Can "die down" also be used?

Top answer

Declined / decreased are both OK. ' Died down' is also OK. It is a more active and colourful term.

Out of idle curiosity, would "lower" make sense too?

No.
But you could say the enemy activity was lower. It's not a great way to say it.

Consider there was less enemy activity.
