What is the difference between "the enemy inside" and "the enemy within"?

They mean approximately the same thing (a person has a serious psychological flaw, the "enemy" inside of him) - but there might be a slight structural difference in sentence construction. Neither would be heard very often, as, stylistically, they would sound too melodramatic and 19th century (unless this is the effect you're trying to achieve). Some examples of usage:
