Ending Sentences in Prepositions

Is the sentence "From which decade is your favorite album from?" grammatically correct? If not, what's wrong with it? I think it's grammatically incorrect but my friend thinks it's fine, so we figured we'd try to get an answer here.

No. But I hear such patterns a lot in conversations.
What's wrong is that the preposition "from" is repeated.

The better version is:
Which decade is your favorite album from?

These sentences have the same error:
To whom

You only need one 'from'. I would omit the first 'from'.
