Hi,

My understanding is like that: you can use the preposition 'for' with an object, here 'what':That's for what I am here. But it sounds a bit clumsy though grammatically it's OK. On the other hand, you can tie the preposition with the verb 'be', here 'am' (a sort of phrasal verb 'be for') and put 'for' at the end of the sentence: That's what I am here for.
