Ending a letter

Can you please give me some guidance?

I am writing a letter on behalf of my firm, to another company where the person I am writing to is unknown e.g The Marketing Department, ABC PLC etc.
If I end the letter as from the company I am writing from e.g XYZ PLC, do I still end the letter
Dear Sirs

Yours faithfully

XYZ PLC

Etc?

I have been told that I should only use Yours faithfully if it is from me a person?

Top answer

Yours faithfully is traditional with Dear Sirs , but in modern English I almost always see Yours sincerely. My advice is to put your name and position at the end, followed by the company name. Yours faithfully your signature Fred Smith Marketing Manager XYZ PLC

Do you mean without including the name and position of the person writing?.

That is very unbusinesslike.
