Employee's number, etc.

Hi,

Would appreciate your thoughts on this. We're revising some company forms. One person wants to label certain cells Employee's No. (Number), Employee's Name, and Employee's Signature. I prefer Employee No., etc. I find Employee's No. awkward, but maybe so is Employee Signature? Does one form (with or without possessive) sound more natural than the other?

Thanks,

Grace

Hi, I've almost always seen 'no apostrophe'. In addition, I worked in computer business systems for many years and we never used apostrophes like that. Apostrophes commonly make trouble for computer systems.

Hi Grace;

Is there a way to use "Employee" at the top of all the boxes, and then "Name", "ID Number", and "Signature" in the individual boxes?
