Emphasizes , strongly as

Hi, Is it correct to understand "Emphasizes" as "Put an emphasize" here?

I didn't understand the point about "strongly as any religion", it talks about the fidelity? It is really unclear

"Now the church is entirely monogamous and emphasizes fidelity between husband and wife as strongly as any religion in the world."

Yes, emphasize = put emphasis upon.

Consider this recasting:

Now the church is entirely monogamous and emphasizes fidelity between husband and wife as strongly as [this fidelity is emphasized in] any religion in the world."
