Emphasise on

"to emphasise" (google book search results: 642,000)

or

" to emphasise on" (google book search results: 2000)

Which one is correct? Or both are right in their own right? I am confused.

By the way, Google hits counts are in my experience largely meaningless semi-random numbers. In this case, paging to the end yields only 430 hits for "to emphasise on". Some of these are grammatically different from what you might be assuming and are OK; for example, "to emphasise, on behalf not only of the Members...", "it has not fai
