emotional orbiting

Hi,

Can I use the expression emotional orbiting in a sense cheating and falling in love like this:

You know well, Florijan, that I did not always give your emotional orbiting nor even your coming back home the evil eye.

Thank you

I don't think so. I've never seen it. The expression in English for this behaviour is 'philandering'.

I’ve never heard or read this expression before. I googled it and found only three results.

“Cheating” and “falling in love” are two different things. Perhaps you mean “i never cheated on you”?

Try 'philander' in either Google or better still any dictionary.

Hello,

Yes I think philander will do.

I guess the meaning that I am looking for here is having extra-marital affairs.

Thank you all.

But what word could I use if I wanted to express emotional ups-and downs of a man who is cheating on his wife? (emotional turmoils?)

You could use "remorse" or "guilt" or say he has a "guilty conscience" if he feels bad about it. If his emotions are up and down constantly, you could use the phrase "he was on an emotional roller coaster".
