Embrace

Hello. I’m wondering what ‘embrace’ in the following sentence means. Could you explain it or replace it with (an)other expression(s)?

When presented with the option of working for a company that acts responsibly towards the community in which it operates and one that doesn’t, workers who value personal fulfillment over personal financial gain are embracing the former.

Thank you very much, CB. I thought it means something like that, but I was not sure.
