Embossed [card] vs. ??

What is the opposite of embossed with regard to payment cards?

Could that simply be 'non-embossed'?

Cards with magnetic strips (whether
embossed or not) are often called "swipe
cards." My library card has a machine-readable
bar code (and is not embossed); this type
appears to have no special name.

Well, the term "emboss" generally means that something (like lettering or embellishments) is raised from the flat surface (the boss). If it is not embossed, it is flat. If those things are set into the surface rather than raised, then they're depressed.
